Biedermeier style secretary

Diminutive German Beidermeier style secretary with a door above and three drawers below the pull down writing surface surmounted by a pediment and with a decorative frieze. The frieze and drawer fronts are penwork--a technique adopted in the early 19th century in imitation of Indian ivory inlay work. The secretary is 72" tall, 23" wide and 11" deep; the writing surface extends out 15" when open.
